- 1 teaspoon cardamom powder π
- 1 tablespoon khoya (optional) π₯

1. Prepare the Carrots
- Peel and grate 1 kg of carrots. Set aside.
2. Cook the Carrots
- In a large pan, heat 1/2 cup of ghee over medium heat.
- Add the grated carrots and sautΓ© for 5-7 minutes until they start to soften.
3. Add Milk
- Pour in 4 cups of milk and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the milk is absorbed and the mixture thickens. This may take about 30-40 minutes.
4. Add Sugar and Nuts
- Once the milk has reduced, add 1 cup of sugar. Stir well.
- Cook for an additional 10-15 minutes until the mixture thickens further.
- Add 1/4 cup each of chopped cashews, almonds, and raisins. Mix well.
5. Add Aromatics
- Stir in 1 teaspoon of cardamom powder.
- If using, add 1 tablespoon of khoya for extra richness. Cook for another 5 minutes.
6. Finish and Serve
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
- Once the halwa has thickened to your desired consistency, remove from heat.
- Garnish with additional chopped nuts if desired.
