Ingredients:
- 1 cup besan (gram flour) πΎ
- 1/2 cup ghee (clarified butter) π§
- 1/2 cup sugar π¬
- 1/4 cup water π§
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (cashews, almonds, etc.) π°
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder πΏ
- Saffron strands (optional) π
Instructions:
- Roast the Besan: In a pan, heat 1/2 cup ghee. Add the besan and roast on low heat, stirring continuously until it turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma. This will take about 10-12 minutes. π°
- Prepare the Sugar Syrup: In a separate pan, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1/4 cup water. Heat until the sugar dissolves and the syrup reaches a single-thread consistency. If using saffron, add it to the syrup now. π―
- Mix: Pour the hot sugar syrup into the roasted besan while stirring continuously to avoid lumps. The mixture will start to thicken. π₯
- Add Nuts & Cardamom: Once the mixture starts to leave the sides of the pan, add the chopped nuts and cardamom powder. Mix well. π°
- Shape the Ladoos: Allow the mixture to cool slightly until itβs easy to handle. Grease your hands with a bit of ghee and shape the mixture into small balls (ladoos). π¬
